About
Anya Baghina is a Russian-born artist based in Madison, Wisconsin. Her self-titled debut album, released in June 2023, blends accessible melodies with nonlinear song structures, moving between shoegazey dream pop, jangly indie folk, synth-driven ambient soundscapes, distorted indie rock, and noisy art pop. The lyrics range from resigned to hopeful, biting to patiently observant, and grief-stricken to something approaching peace.
