Alligator Gun
About
Alligator Gun was a prominent Milwaukee-based power pop punk band active during the 1990s. Formed in 1991, the original lineup consisted of Bill Couture (vocals/guitar), John Kucera (vocals/guitar), Scott Schoenbeck (bass), and Craig Johansen (drums). The band released their debut full-length album, 'Shirk', in 1993, which gained them a loyal local and regional following. Their melodic sound caught the attention of Relativity Records (a Sony subsidiary), which released their second album, 'OneHundredPercentFreak', in 1995. During their career, they toured with notable acts like NOFX and Smoking Popes, played the Warped Tour, and opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band officially dissolved in 1997, though a posthumous collection titled 'Over and Out' was released in 1999. Bassist Scott Schoenbeck later became well-known for his work with The Promise Ring and Dashboard Confessional. Alligator Gun has reunited for occasional benefit shows, most notably in 2006 and 2014.
